World markets dive as Trump sparks trade, North Korea worries

Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. Markets had surged Monday after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He said they had agreed to pull back from imposing threatened tariffs on billions of dollars of goods, and continue talks on a variety of trade issues. However, Trump has declared that he was “not satisfied” with the status of the talks, fuelling worries that the world’s top two economies could still slug out an economically pain

Guardiola says Man City aren’t new Invincibles.

Pep Guardiola has promised Arsene Wenger that Manchester City have no chance of emulating his Arsenal team’s 2003/04 record of completing a Premier League season unbeaten. Arsenal were dubbed the ‘Invincibles’ after becoming only the second team — after Preston North End in 1888/89 — to go through an English top-flight campaign without losing a game. City are unbeaten after 10 games of the league season, but Wenger has suggested it will be difficult for them to match his side’s achievement and City boss Guardiola agrees with the Arsenal manager. “I would like to say to Arsene that this record belongs to him. We are not going to break it,” Guardiola said on Friday ahead of his side’s home game with Arsenal on Sunday. “He has to be calm. He has to be sure that is not going to happen. It was an exceptional team. “To stay unbeaten in the Premier League is something fantastic. He has to know that we don’t want to break this record, but we want to play well and beat them

Supreme Court considers fate of Liberia presidential runoff.

Liberia’s Supreme Court on Friday said it would decide on Monday whether a runoff vote for the presidency will go ahead, after hearing arguments from an opposition party and the electoral commission. Chief Justice Francis Korkpor said the court would issue a decision on Monday at 10am (1000 GMT) over whether the runoff between former international footballer George Weah and incumbent Vice-President Joseph Boakai would proceed. However, most observers agree the scheduled date of November 7 now looks near-impossible. Charles Brumskine, who came third in an October 10 election behind Weah and Boakai, is alleging “massive fraud and irregularities” marred the poll and is seeking a re-run of the whole vote. The Weah-Boakai runoff was triggered after no single candidate gained more than 50 percent of votes, though Weah topped the poll. Boakai has said he backs Brumskine’s legal complaint. On October 31, the five-judge panel ordered the National Elections Commission (NEC

Gay Lions Getting Intimate At Kenya's National Park (Photos) - .

Images of a romantic encounter between two male lions in Kenya's Masai Mara has upset the country's 'moral police' who has blamed gay men visiting the national park for 'influencing' the animals' behaviour. Dr Ezekiel Mutua, who is responsible for TV and film censorship in Kenya, has called for the two lions in question to be caught and kept in isolation until scientists can 'determine how they acquired homosexual behaviour'. Despite the fact that homosexuality among lions has been observed for decades,  Dr Mutua is convinced that the lions would either have spotted gay men having sex in front of them, or been possessed by demons.

Mourinho appears in Madrid court over tax fraud allegations.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was grilled by a judge in Spain on Friday over accusations of a 3.3 million euro ($3.8 million) tax fraud during his time in charge of Real Madrid in 2011 and 2012. The 54-year-old did not speak to reporters as he arrived for the court hearing in Pozuelo de Alarcon, an upscale Madrid suburb where he used to live, which comes just over 48 hours before he is set to return to Stamford Bridge to face old side Chelsea on Sunday. The Portuguese coach, who wore a suit with no tie, is the latest high-profile football figure to be questioned over his tax affairs. He entered the main door of the court without his lawyers, who arrived before him. Spanish prosecutors accuse Mourinho, who coached Madrid between 2010 and 2013, of failing to declare income of 1.6 million euros in 2011 and 1.7 million euros in 2012. The basis for the case, as with a series of football stars based in Spain, is how income from Mourinho's image rights w

20 common WordPress mistakes, myths and misgivings.

Mistakes These mistakes can lead to problems in security and slow the development process. Remember to do these steps, so your WordPress sites are faster, better planned and more secure. 1. Using an administrator to post content It’s important to make sure you’re disguising your WordPress installation as much as possible. Predictability is not your friend and posting content under an administrator account is predictable. Guessing your username isn’t too hard if it’s displayed on your post. Instead reserve your administrator level account for backend work ONLY. Create a contributor account to use as your author. You can still write the content as an author just assign the post to the contributor before you post it live. 2. Keeping “admin” an administrator This mistake has been made for years and continues to get made. By default WordPress creates the “admin” username and assigns it to a administrator level. This is obviously predictable and one way of making it easier for a
