World markets dive as Trump sparks trade, North Korea worries

Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. Markets had surged Monday after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He said they had agreed to pull back from imposing threatened tariffs on billions of dollars of goods, and continue talks on a variety of trade issues. However, Trump has declared that he was “not satisfied” with the status of the talks, fuelling worries that the world’s top two economies could still slug out an economically pain

Tesla Model 3 Will Be Almost Fully Voice Controllable With Future Update .

Tesla Model 3 Will Be Almost Fully Voice Controllable With Future Update – Musk  by  carfreaksng :  4:59pm  On  Jan 17 Soon you’ll be able to command your Tesla Model 3 almost entirely by voice, says CEO Elon Musk. The Model 3s lack of buttons means that most features are now controlled by its center touch screen. That’s a bit problematic due to how distracting use of such a system can be. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he has a solution and it will come in the form of an over-the-air update that enables voice control. According to Musk, this update will provide near full voice control of all features found in the Model 3. So, for example, you’ll simply say something like “turn on heated seats” and the Model 3 will respond accordingly. Additionally, Musk says that the Model 3 feature base will expand with voice control “we will add a lot more features.” This makes sense because voice control really is limitless, whereas there are only so many distractions you can add to the touch

Cédric Bakambu Becomes The Most Expensive African Player In History - .

Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu has become the most expensive African player in history after Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan concurred a £65m deal the Spanish club. The Chinese side has consented to pay the DR Congo striker’s £35.3m release clause, with the total expense fee will be swelled to £65m because of Chinese taxation laws. Any expense fee paid by Chinese sides over €5m is currently subject to a transfer tax as the CSL hopes to encourage the signing of home-based Chinese players to improve the national team players. That deal will surpass the past record, set when Liverpool consented to pay RB Leipzig £48m for Naby Keita in the summer transfer window. Bakambu, who is Villarreal’s top goal poacher in all competition so far this season with 14 goals, has just had a medical session with the Chinese side and will become the CSL’s record deal for an African, surpassing the £60m that Shanghai SIPG paid Chelsea for Oscar last January. Missed Messi penalty costs Barca in cup derby defeat.

Lionel Messi missed a penalty as Espanyol struck in the dying moments to consign Barcelona to their first defeat since August, 1-0 in the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on Wednesday. Oscar Melendo slotted home a neat finish with two minutes remaining of a temperamental derby cup tie, racing onto Marc Navarro’s low cross to punish Messi for missing a 62nd-minute penalty and send the home crowd into raptures. “We knew this day would come, we tried to delay it as much as possible but it couldn’t be today,” said Sergio Busquets after the match. “The good thing is that we have the second leg to try to mount a comeback. We are lucky to have that game at home, and we will have to win whatever happens.” In a match of few chances Barca’s penalty, which came after a foul on Sergi Roberto, looked to be the decisive moment for the away side, but Espanyol keeper Diego Lopez dived superbly to his left to push Messi’s powerful shot wide.
