World markets dive as Trump sparks trade, North Korea worries

Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. Markets had surged Monday after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He said they had agreed to pull back from imposing threatened tariffs on billions of dollars of goods, and continue talks on a variety of trade issues. However, Trump has declared that he was “not satisfied” with the status of the talks, fuelling worries that the world’s top two economies could still slug out an economically pain

How I Was Scammed In Lagos: My 2 Weeks Experience In A Hotel.

I am not much of a good writer, pls pardon any errors. So 3wks ago, I called the number that was attached to this vacancy, a lady picked and gave me the address of the hotel in which I will provide details later, I went there for the interview and right from that time I knew things were not good because the man is so abusive and disrespectful, I couldn't place that in my head out of desperation to start work, I was told I will undergo 2weeks training because I have no experience in the position I applied for #waiter, I couldn't ask if I will be paid or not(first mistake), it wasn't my fault though, but if you go there to experience the way he talk, you will fear, the atmosphere is tense. I started training 2days after since I was able to submit my guarantor's form the following day after the interview, I was attached to someone who was my supervisor and he is to be the one to train us(we are two), I am on night shift while the other a lady on morning shift, the firs

Newport stun Leeds, West Ham survive FA Cup test.

Lowly Newport County came from behind to send Championship side Leeds United crashing out of the FA Cup on Sunday but Premier League West Ham stayed alive with a goalless draw at Shrewsbury. On-loan forward Shawn McCoulsky headed in a dramatic 89th-minute winner for Welsh club Newport to seal a 2-1 victory against the 1972 Cup winners and send the crowd at Rodney Parade wild. Leeds had earlier taken an early lead in the third-round tie when Gaetano Berardi’s deflected long-range shot found the net. But Newport, currently 11th in League Two — the fourth tier of the English game — levelled 14 minutes from time when Leeds defender Conor Shaughnessy sliced into his own net. Infused with fresh belief in front of a passionate Welsh crowd, Newport pressed for a winner, and with a minute to go on-loan substitute McCoulsky rose highest at a corner to head in the decisive goal and send the stadium into raptures. Leeds were then reduced to 10 men when substitute Samuel Saiz

France marks three years since Charlie Hebdo attack.

French President Emmanuel Macron laid a wreath in front of the former offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Sunday to mark three years since the massacre of its staff in an Islamist attack At a low-key ceremony, in line with requests from the families of the victims for a sober commemoration, Macron was joined by journalists from the magazine, members of his government and the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo. Two French jihadists who had sworn allegiance to al-Qaeda killed 11 people at Charlie Hebdo’s offices in 2015 over the staunchly atheist magazine’s satirical coverage of Islam and the prophet Mohammed. The assault, which saw a policeman executed at pointblank range nearby, profoundly shocked France. It also marked the beginning of a series of jihadist attacks that have claimed 241 lives in total according to an AFP toll. Charlie Hebdo, which prides itself on being provocative, returned to the murder of its famed cartoonists and writers in its latest iss
