Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. A young man has been arrested in Agbor, Delta state for reportedly beating up a hotel manager, locking him in a room and stealing his cash, motorcycle and other valuables.
PoliticsNGR gathered that the man, Genesis Peretemode,28 and father of one, three months ago checked into a hotel in Agbor alongside a friend.
They informed the manager of the hotel of their intention to lodge for a week, but after three days in the hotel they attacked the manager in his office, tied his legs, hands and mouth, locked him up in the office and cart away with cash estimated to be above a hundred thousand naira, including a Frajend ladies motorcycle belonging to the manager and his phones.
Peretomode was captured yesterday in Agbor and has since been handed over to men of the Agbor Police command for further investigation.
