World markets dive as Trump sparks trade, North Korea worries

Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. Fans to win 50 decoders at GOtv Boxing Night 13.

Fans coming to watch boxing action and musical performances at GOtv Boxing Night 13 have the opportunity of going home with 50 GOtv decoders at the event holding on December 26 at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island Lagos.         

The decoders will be won through raffle draws to be held in between fights at the event, which will feature musical performances by Small Doctor, Simi, Reekado Banks and Falz The Bahd Guy.
According to Flykite Productions, organisers of the event, the decoders are to be given out by the sponsors, GOtv, in appreciation of fans’ support for the event since it began three years ago. 
Seven fights, including two African Boxing Union (ABU) title duels and a West African Boxing Union (WABU) title fights are scheduled. The headline bout will see Nigeria’s Oto ‘Joe Boy’ Joseph attempt to win the vacant ABU lightweight title when he fights Abdulrahim Ahmed of Egypt.
Joseph’s compatriot, Olaide ‘Fijaborn’ Fijabi will fight for the ABU light welterweight title against Shadrack ‘Punch to Punch’ Kobero of Tanzania. Abolaji ‘Afonja Warrior’ Rasheed, incumbent WABU middleweight champion, will defend his title against Arye Ayiiteh of Ghana.
Also in the light welterweight category, Rilwan ‘Baby Face’ Babatunde will fight for the national title against Chijioke ‘Painless’ Ngige.

Three challenge contests are equally scheduled with Jimoh ‘Hogan Jimoh Jr.’ Lukman taking on Rilwan ‘Scorpion’ Opatola, while Rilwan ‘Real One’ Oladosu takes on Kazeem ‘Ijoba’ Badmus.

APDA, PDP, commend INEC for “timely” release of 2019 elections’ timetable.

The Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) and the Peoples Democratic Party have commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) “for early release of timetable and schedule of activities for the 2019 general elections.” The political parties gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday. The APDA National Publicity Secretary, Mr Tosin Adeyanju, described the timetable and schedule of activities as a welcome development for political parties.
