World markets dive as Trump sparks trade, North Korea worries

Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. Markets had surged Monday after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He said they had agreed to pull back from imposing threatened tariffs on billions of dollars of goods, and continue talks on a variety of trade issues. Cédric Bakambu Becomes The Most Expensive African Player In History - .

Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu has become the most expensive African player in history after Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan concurred a £65m deal the Spanish club.

The Chinese side has consented to pay the DR Congo striker’s £35.3m release clause, with the total expense fee will be swelled to £65m because of Chinese taxation laws.

Any expense fee paid by Chinese sides over €5m is currently subject to a transfer tax as the CSL hopes to encourage the signing of home-based Chinese players to improve the national team players.

That deal will surpass the past record, set when Liverpool consented to pay RB Leipzig £48m for Naby Keita in the summer transfer window.

Bakambu, who is Villarreal’s top goal poacher in all competition so far this season with 14 goals, has just had a medical session with the Chinese side and will become the CSL’s record deal for an African, surpassing the £60m that Shanghai SIPG paid Chelsea for Oscar last January.
