World markets dive as Trump sparks trade, North Korea worries

Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. Markets had surged Monday after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He said they had agreed to pull back from imposing threatened tariffs on billions of dollars of goods, and continue talks on a variety of trade issues. Liverpool swoops on £54m Ndidi amid huge Salah claim.

Reports in England say Liverpool is lining up a summer move for Leicester’s midfield enforcer, Wilfred Ndidi.The-21-year-old has enjoyed an impressive second season at the King Power, completing the most tackles per 90 minutes in the Premier League this term.It is believed that it will take a bid in the region of £54 million for Leicester to part with the former Genk man, who cost the Foxes just £15 million in January 2017.

“Fernando Torres was a breath a fresh air when he came to Liverpool and scored spectacular goals, be he was an out-and-out centre forward and Salah is a midfielder.
“With Coutinho, I think he was yet to really fulfil his potential at Liverpool and he probably will do with Barcelona, but Salah now is at the very top of his game.“I think he’s been one of the most important Liverpool signings and probably the best Liverpool signing in the last ten to 15 years.”
