Global stocks sank Wednesday after US President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with talks that are aimed at averting a trade war with China. Equities were also dented by poor eurozone economic data, and as Trump cast doubt on a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Trump (is) continuing to drive uncertainty over global trade,” said analyst Joshua Mahony at trading firm IG. “European markets are following their Asian counterparts lower, as a pessimistic tone from Trump is compounded by downbeat economic data,” he added. Markets had surged Monday after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He said they had agreed to pull back from imposing threatened tariffs on billions of dollars of goods, and continue talks on a variety of trade issues. - You can either use rolled oats or ground oats (oat flour) for making Oat Fufu.
- If you would be eating oat fufu on a regular basis, it is better to buy ground oats if these are available where you live. If not, buy rolled oats and blend with your dry mill (for egusi and ogbono) or coffee grinder.
Directions for making Oatmeal Fufu
- I usually make the Oatmeal Fufu that I can finish with one and a half cups of water. I pour this into a clean pot and set to boil.
- When it boils, reduce the heat to low and steadily add the oat flour into the pot of water while mixing at the same time with a spatula. Watch the video below to see this in action.
- As the mix becomes thicker and you can feel it on your spatula, stop adding the oat flour but keep mixing till a smooth ball of dough is achieved.
- Add a few drops of water to the oat fufu, cover the pot and let it steam for about one minute.
- Mix again till everything is well combined.
